Our B-town celebs do invest a lot of thought and imagination (and money!) in their wedding invites. The invitation of this grand affair was sent in three golden coloured boxes with two big entwined ‘As’ drawn on them. The boxes were held together with a red ribbon. The first box contained the invite, while the second box had 24 pieces of mithai made from chocolate imported from Switzerland. An idol of lord Ganesha was placed in the third box.

Symbol ‘AA’ was also embossed on red in white gold on the cover of the card that was placed in the first box. Next page of the invite had lord Ganesha printed on it with few shlokas in golden letters. The third page had a Hindi poem penned by Amitabh Bachchan’s late father and poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The rest of the pages contained the formal invitation to the wedding and details of the ceremonies. The card was printed in both Hindi and English. For the personal touch, parents of the bride and groom signed each card. The couple got married on April 20, 2007.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s wedding was a much awaited affair of the tinsel town. Known for their style and royalty, the couple made sure that even their wedding card reflected the same. For their big day, the couple chose a royal square-shaped golden coloured wedding card. It was personalised with a special royal crest with their initials ‘RS’ on it.

The invite was placed inside with lord Ganesha’s face imprinted in the middle. Shlokas were printed on the flaps of the card. The wedding ceremony details were placed in a booklet style in this box. There was another special box containing customised chocolates for the invitees as well. This invitation and gift box was held together with a gold satin ribbon. This ribbon was personalised with a vinyl logo which was cut on acrylic. The much in love couple tied the knot on November 22, 2009.

Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva

The wedding card of Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva was one of the costliest cards ever made. You want to know why? Crushed gem stones and real gold was used to make the card. Their eco-friendly invite had two segments. The first compartment was for chocolates, while the other contained separate invites for different marriage ceremonies like mehendi, sangeet, wedding and reception.

The cards also had unique-limited edition of Ganjifa painting for special invitees. It was packed like a jewellery box made of velvet. The invitation and the bag carrying the card were made from handmade paper, which was all 100 per cent recycled material. About 2000 cards were sent for their marriage which took place on October 29, 2010.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik

The heartthrob Imran married his childhood sweetheart just a little while after he entered the Bollywood town. Their wedding card was a reflection of couple’s playfulness and imaginative style. The card contained two black and silver boxes that had 2011 written on them in words. One of the boxes contained customised chocolates in them. The other one had a year-planner diary, potpourri fragrance and a pinwheel in it. The wedding details were printed on a yellow paper that was attached to the pinwheel.

Top 5 Must Have Wedding Picture Poses

Wedding album is the most precious keepsake for a couple. Every couple wants their wedding album to be filled with the most beautiful, romantic and innovative photographs. However, there are certain poses that are loved universally by all couples and their photographers. Wedding photographs have to be about capturing a couple's love for each other. So, it is a photographer's job to make sure that he or she brings in small variations into these classic poses. These different styles will bring out the chemistry and warmth that a couple shares. Here are five wedding poses that should always be a part of every wedding album.

The classic sitting pose

The classic sitting pose is a must have in any wedding album. The bride and groom have to sit close to each other. The bride can wrap her arm around the groom’s biceps. Another variation can be the one where bride rests her head on the groom’s shoulder. The couple can also tilt their heads slightly towards each other. A simple smile on their lips will complete this picture-perfect pose.

The classic standing pose

This is another classic pose for a wedding picture. But, other than standing casually, with stiff body and expressions, there can be some interesting variations in this one as well. The photographer can ask the couple to stand together while holding hands. Another one is to have a groom look at the bride while she looks into the camera. This particular variation will add an interesting dash of romance and passion to the wedding album.

The hug pose

The hug pose is one of the most romantic and sensuous wedding poses that a couple can have in their wedding album. For this pose, the bride and groom stand facing each other. The groom wraps his arms around the bride's waist, as they either look into each other's eyes or in the camera. The bride can rest her head on the groom’s chest and put her hand on his shoulder. This pose will add a lot of charm and oomph to the album.

Forehead to forehead

The foreheads of the bride and groom should touch, in either standing or sitting pose. If they are standing, the bride can slightly tilt her head up and the groom can bend down so that the foreheads meet. A beautiful variation can be a 'kiss on the forehead' pose, where groom bends to kiss his bride’s forehead. A huge smile is very important in this pose. Use of interesting lighting and backdrop can add some beautiful elements to this pose.

Lift her in arms

This pose will add beautiful (and sometimes candid) moments to a couple's album. It will also be a very romantic moment shared by the couple. In this pose, the groom lifts the bride in his arms. They can either look into each other’s eyes or share an infectious smile, as they pose for the camera.

If possible, a couple should rehearse a few poses before their wedding day, to get comfortable with each other and the camera. Since they might not have a lot of time to experiment on their special day, these rehearsals can be extremely helpful.

These poses will add a lot of beautiful and romantic moments to a couple's wedding album, along with a dash of innovation. So, time to say 'cheese'!

Bollywood Brides and their Wedding Look

Our country saw many high profile Bollywood divas donning the bridal avatar. Naturally, all eyes were fixed on their bridal looks and they didn’t disappoint. The Bollywood bridal looks of this year were not about trends, but more about individualism and very close to the each starlet’s personality and ideals.

Each bride had her own style crafted with finesse, elegance and an attempt to stay true to her traditional style. While some donned the dreamy silhouettes, others opted for the traditional nine-yard garb. Let’s take a look at the Bollywood brides.

Kareena Kapoor
It was one of the most talked about weddings in India ever. As Kareena jokingly but rightly pointed out - "Even Obama knows about Saif-Kareena wedding, and the parliament should discuss it". So, there is no surprise that it makes to our list.

Kareena looked resplendent not just on her wedding but also on the celebrations around it. On her Sangeet, she was glowing in a yellow-gold lehenga designed by her best friend Manish Malhotra. With heavy jewellery and her hair neatly set in a bun, the look made her a sure head turner.

Kareena stayed simple in a red and green salwar kameez on the day of her marriage registration. Minimal makeup and naturally glowing skin did the trick for her. Exchanging her wedding vows in her mother-in-law’s gharara with heavy jewellery and maang-tika brought forth a combination of regal poise and classic charm. A deep burgundy gharara for the reception spelt the old-world charm making her a true royal bride.

Vidya Balan
Vidya’s wedding was a non-glamorous affair sans any Bollywood celebrity. The wedding was a mix of South Indian and Punjabi traditions with littlehoo-ha.

The pretty bride stayed true to her signature Sabyasachi style. She changed her outfits thrice during the wedding. She wore a silk mustard coloured sari with a pink blouse matching Siddharth’s yellow kurta and pink turban.

After the wedding, she changed into a red colour Sabyasachi sari and the Punjabi-chooda (bangles). Siddharth wore an elegant white and yellow kurta with Kolhapuri slippers.

Esha Deol
The darling daughter of Dharmendra and Hema had a starry Sangeet ceremony where Esha wore an orange Rocky S outfit while her fiancé Bharat Takhtani, wore a blue sherwani.

Her marriage was a traditional South Indian wedding in a temple. She wore a red lehenga made of three kanjivaram saris. Traditional gold jewellery completed her wedding look. Bharat wore a white sherwani with zardozi work. Hema Malini’s close friend designer Neeta Lulla designed the beautiful outfits.

Genelia D'Souza
Genelia and Riteish had a typical Maharashtrian-style wedding. The couple wore the traditional headgears. She wore a red sari designed by Neeta Lulla.

The Sangeet was a Bollywood studded affair with Karan Johar as the master of ceremony. Genelia wore a pretty white lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra. Another pre-wedding ceremony saw her in a casual sari dancing to the beats of dhol.

Lisa Ray
Lisa married her long-standing boyfriend Jason Dehlvi in an exclusive wedding ceremony in Napa Valley. She wore a slim-fitted white gown designed by Wendell Rodricks. It was a georgette gown with satin-silk trail encrusted with crystals, delicate daisy petals, glowing pearls and shiny sequins.

The sangeet ceremony was loud and more Bollywood-like and she wore a red anarkali designed by Tarun Tahiliani. Raghavendra Rathore designed Jason’s outfits for all the functions.
